Visitors & Newcomers

All are invited: You are welcome to attend worship at the Church of Our Saviour and to join the congregation for Coffee Hour after each service. Though other churches make the claim, ours really is the best Coffee Hour in northern California! We hope you will find our congregation not only spiritually grounded, but also welcoming and fun.

Families with small children are welcome to have their children with them in church. Crayons and coloring pages are available for young children. There is childcare available during the 10:30 am service.

Worship: Sunday mornings: We have two services on Sunday mornings; one at 8:00 am and one at 10:30 am. The 8:00 am service is called Rite I and follows the more traditional service found in the Book of Common Prayer, with language similar to the King James version of the Bible. The sermon is geared toward adults. There is no music at this service.

The 10:30 am service is called Rite II and has more contemporary language. There is music which includes traditional hymns and contemporary music. We have Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) at both services. We invite every person who seeks God through Christian fellowship to join us and to receive Communion if they wish. The gathering around the altar may be unfamiliar to you, but most find it to be a powerful experience of true communion at our common table. If you prefer not to receive the Eucharist, you may request and receive a blessing from the priest.

Wednesday evenings: We have a brief, contemplative service offering Celtic prayers, lectio divina, and reflective music, in an environment of soft lighting, silence and sharing. 6:30 pm.

Adult Forum: There is an Adult Forum class which takes place from 9:30 to 10:15 am on most Sundays during the academic year. These are held in the downstairs area of Peirce Hall.

Weekly Parish E-News and Monthly Newsletter: These are the best ways to keep up with events at the church. Please contact the Parish Administrator at oursaviour.placerville@gmail.com if you wish you receive our parish E-news and/or newsletter.
